Just finished this yesterday. I literally have no idea what to say about this book.
Did I like it?  Absolutely. It was interesting, heart breaking, full of emotion and fear.
How did I feel about the…peculiar relationships formed? Weirded out.  This book essentially romanticized incest and rape yet I didn’t feel upset by it. It seemed in, it’s own way, justifiable.
Will I read the rest of the series? Perhaps “Petals in the Wind”. I read the synopsis of the other books and what I thought couldn’t get weirder did. I’m interested in the siblings life after the escape but not what transpires thereafter.
This book left me with an emotion I couldn’t name. The subject wasn’t exactly my thing but I yearn to read the rest of the series. Perhaps I am drawn to the writing style and not necessarily the story line. All I know that this book angered me more than any other book has. I mean that fucking mother…But I digress. “Flowers in the Attic” was a great book and I recommend that you open your mind a little if you too choose to read it.
